Brave x Junction Nintendo Switch western release put on hold, flagged for content involving children [update: censored release]

Posted on December 18, 2025 by in News, Switch eShop

November 13: Brave x Junction’s North American and European Nintendo Switch releases have been indefinitely put on hold due to possibly containing “legally problematic sexual content involving children.” This is despite already being released in Japan, and on other platforms in the west on its original release date of October 9, 2025.

Developer Rideon announced this delay shortly before the game’s initial launch but hadn’t expanded on it up until recently. Oh the company’s X account, a series of images made to look like screen grabs from the title were posted.

The illustrations have in-game characters explaining that some of the more risqué designs were flagged as possibly being underaged. Rideon proceeds to make it clear that this was not their intention, with a poster in the back reading “We won’t stand for sexual content involving children”.

Brave x Junction is a fantasy RPG that uses the card game blackjack for its combat. The title launched on Steam and the PlayStation 5 with no issue, and Nintendo Switch users can still play the game through the Japanese eShop. Rideon hasn’t yet stated a possible western release date, or if the game will be modified to appease the stricter rubrics. We’ll make sure to update this article as more information comes out.

Specifically the fighter’s and the magician’s outfits have been changed. The original version of the game will still be available in the Japanese eShop, with the North American and European versions being a separate app.
