Dwerve game

You may remember a little game called Dwerve that was funded on Kickstarter last year. It was successfully funded on $10,000, and was then secured for Switch after the total surpassed $50,000.

We haven’t posted about Dwerve in quite some time, but development on the game has continued. The tower defense dungeon crawler has now resurfaced with a new trailer in celebration for PAX West 2021. Developer Half Human Games says the project went through some “awesome improvements” since it was first funded on Kickstarter and even gave it a big makeover.

Here’s the video:

In its story-based campaign, the upcoming game Dwerve “tells the story of a young dwarven tinkerer that adventures into dwarven ruins to unearth the lost technologies of the ancient warsmiths: turrets and traps, the only weapons that can protect the dwarves from Witch Queen Vandra the Wicked and her army of bloodthirsty trolls and monstrous creatures.” It offers tactical turret-based combat, the ability to upgrade your arsenal, artifacts like the arrow-blocking shield, dashing boots, and a bouncing boomerang, a number of ancient dungeons with various biomes to explore, and fully dynamic lighting.

Dwerve is currently targeting release in Q1 2022. We’ll have more on the game going forward.
