Factorio Nintendo Switch 2 Edition announced [update: release date]
October 24: Another Nintendo Switch 2 Edition has been announced, and this time it’s for the construction and management sim Factorio. We don’t have a release date yet, but the team is currently targeting December.
Factorio Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will come with several improvements compared to the Switch 1 release. These are as follows:
- Better resolution. The game will run on the screen’s native 1080p resolution instead of 720p. When docked, it supports all resolutions, including 2160p (4K).
- Variable refresh rate support for the console’s screen.
- Some higher quality animations.
- Some higher resolution sprites.
- Other visual improvements.
- Faster loading times.
- Ability to build much larger bases.
- Mouse mode support. Using the Joy-Con Mouse Sensor, the left or right Joy-Con can be used as a mouse.
If you already purchased Factorio on Nintendo Switch, the Switch 2 upgrade will be free. It will launch at the same time as the Space Age DLC, and on Nintendo’s console, “nothing was removed or trimmed down” for the expansion.
