Microids today announced King of Tokyo, a new video game based on the monster movie-themed tabletop game. Fans can expect to see it on Nintendo Switch in Spring 2026.

The upcoming title retains the board game-based experience. You’ll play as a kaiju as you destroy everything in your path – roll the dice and make the best possible combinations to heal yourself, attack, buy cards or win Victory Points.

Here’s some additional information about King of Tokyo:

Play as a gigantic Monster wreaking havoc in your path! Roll the dice and create the best combinations to heal, attack, purchase cards, or earn Victory Points.

Adapt your strategy to seize the title of King of Tokyo at just the right moment and strike all your opponents at once.

The first player to reach 20 Victory Points wins the game… or be the last one standing to claim victory!

Key Features

  • Solo and Local Multiplayer Modes – Face off against AI opponents in customizable matches tailored to all difficulty levels or challenge up to 5 friends in intense battles. Earn Victory Points or bring your opponents’ life points to zero to claim victory.
