Lexar says it’s releasing Nintendo Switch 2-compatible 1TB microSD Express Card
Lexar China made an announcement this week that it’s about to release a new microSD Express Card, but the important bit here is that it will apparently be compatible with Nintendo Switch 2.
Nintendo hasn’t made any announcements about its storage plans for the console. While there have been rumors pointing to possible microSD Express Card, as of now that’s yet to be confirmed. It’s interesting then that Lexar China has made this announcement and has reason to believe that its product will work on Nintendo’s new system. The company went as far as to say that it’s a “NS must-have”.
The new microSD Express Card will come in at 1TB. An actual release date wasn’t provided, but we know that it’s due out in mid February.
Rumors about Nintendo Switch 2 supporting microSD Express Cards have been ongoing for some time. For instance, earlier this month, different sizes were apparently listed in GameStop’s system.
As for the current Nintendo Switch, as system owners know, it’s compatible with regular microSD cards. The highest amount supported is 2 TB through microSDXC.
Thanks to Xiaohongshu and Famiboards for the news above.
