Metroidvania-style precision platformer Super Mombo Quest out on Switch this week
Orube Game Studio has announced that Super Mombo Quest, a Metroidvania-style precision platformer, is about to make its debut on Switch. It will be available digitally on November 4.
Super Mombo Quest is said to feature a mix of Super Meat Boy-esque challenges, the cuteness of Kirby, and combat inspired by Shovel Knight and Sonic. The pixel art game has players saving the lands of Subrosa from the fearsome King of Nightmares. However, they’ll first need to find out if the main character is actually the prophesied hero to avoid destruction.
As a Metroidvania title, the game has a huge interconnected world, and there are hundreds of areas to explore. Players will also be taking on enemies in combat and performing combos at the same time. When not exploring or battling, the game will also let you unlock different Mombo forms to uncover secrets and make powerful combos, talk to the guardians of Subrosa who will provide items and upgrades, and more.

Super Mombo Quest will be sold digitally for Switch via the eShop. Pricing has not yet been announced.
