NieR: Automata finally fixed on Nintendo Switch 2 for backwards compatibility
Another Nintendo Switch 1 backwards compatibility fix is live on Switch 2, and this time it’s NieR: Automata.
The game has pretty much been broken on the new console since the launch earlier this year. However, everything now seems to be in working order after the latest system update went live last night. Nintendo has changed the eShop page to indicate that previous issues have been resolved.
NieR: Automata was one of a few games with progression issues on Nintendo Switch 2. Previously, it was impossible to finish on the platform. Players would experience crashes and other progression blocks.
Many Nintendo Switch 1 games have been fixed for those playing on Switch 2 over the past few months. We have roundups of what’s been patched up here, here, here, here, and here.
