Nintendo Music removes handful of hidden Splatoon 2 songs

Posted on December 6, 2024 by (@NE_Brian) in News, Switch

A handful of Splatoon 2 songs that were previously available on Nintendo Music are no longer available on the service.

Support for the game was just added in a few days ago. The full soundtrack is up there on the playlist, but fans also noticed that five other songs could be played as well via search. However, Nintendo has now taken them down.

The following tracks were recently pulled:

  • A Brighter Future Awaits! (Grizzco recruitment video)
  • January 2017 trailer
  • Bonus Track (After Octo)
  • Splatocalypse (Final Splatfest Trailer)
  • Inkopolis Memorial Mixtape

According to Nintendo, these songs were “not scheduled to be released which could be played only when they were searched.” The company provide any further information, but we do know that they were previously only available on soundtrack CDs in Japan. It’s unclear if they’ll return at some point, but at least for now, it seems that Nintendo wanted to maintain that exclusivity. There are still a ton of other songs that fans can listen to from Splatoon 2 right now.
