Nintendo shares official announcement for upcoming Switch launch in Brazil
At the end of last week, we found out that Switch will launch in Brazil on September 18. That came about after the initial release confirmation last month.
Nintendo has now put out an official press release regarding Switch’s upcoming debut in Brazil. Continue on below to read it in full.
Today, Nintendo confirmed the official distribution of the Nintendo Switch system in the Brazilian market on September 18th, 2020. Nintendo Switch is a unique home video game system that has sold more than 61 million units around the world since its release in March 2017. Nintendo hopes people in Brazil will enjoy the full home-console experience anytime, anywhere. Nintendo Switch not only connects to a TV at home, but it also instantly transforms into tabletop mode for sharing the fun, and on-the-go handheld mode to take the system anywhere.
Nintendo Switch will be available for purchase on Sept. 18th at a suggested retail price of R$ 2,999 in selected retailers Lojas Americanas and Magazine Luiza, as well as online at the virtual stores Americanas.com.br, Magazineluiza.com.br and Submarino.com.br. Simultaneously, the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and additional Joy-Con controllers in different color options will be available at the same retailers.
“When Nintendo Switch launches in Brazil this September, we hope it will help bring smiles to the faces of everyone who plays,” said Bill van Zyll, Director and General Manager of Latin America at Nintendo of America. “People of all ages will be able to enjoy the fun and social gaming that Nintendo Switch offers.”
The Nintendo Switch system in Brazil will come in two color options: Nintendo Switch with Gray Joy-Con and Nintendo Switch with Neon Blue and Neon Red Joy-Con. Each system will come with the console, Joy-Con (L) and Joy-Con (R) controllers, a Joy-Con grip, a set of Joy-Con straps, a Nintendo Switch dock, an HDMI cable, an AC adaptor plug for Brazil and a quick-start insert in Brazilian Portuguese. Both versions will be at the same suggested retail price.
The new owners of Nintendo Switch in Brazil will be able to discover a wide library of more than 100 games in Loja Nintendo, the official digital store for Nintendo Switch games, including Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Also, content cards are available for purchase in selected retailers Lojas Americanas and Magazine Luiza, as well as online at the virtual stores Americanas.com.br, Magazineluiza.com.br and Submarino.com.br.
