Nintendo Switch 2 to include battery deterioration prevention feature
As we continue to find out about all of the various tidbits surrounding Switch 2, Nintendo has now revealed that the system will include a battery deterioration prevention feature.
That news was shared via the Nintendo Today app. In one of the postings, Nintendo shows off the setting that can be found in the “System” tab.
Essentially, if turned on, Nintendo Switch 2 will typically stop charging at around 90 percent. Nintendo notes that it shortens the amount of time the system can be used while unplugged, but it can help reduce loss of battery capacity over time. There is a note included that the console may still reach 100 percent “to ensure accurate battery-level display.”
Here’s a look at the setting:
Also from the Nintendo Today app, we’ll mention that Switch 2 can be locked with a pin code. This can also be found in the “System” tab of settings. If enabled, you’ll need to enter your PIN each time you wake up the device from sleep mode.
