Operation Highjump: The Fall of Berlin, a 2D shooter / platformer, set for Switch
A Kickstarter campaign for Operation Highjump: The Fall of Berlin opened today, and was essentially funded immediately. Mansion Games has already raised about $12,000, which is roughly double the original goal. Switch was built into the main campaign rather than a stretch goal, so we can say with certainty that the game will be appearing on Nintendo’s console down the road.
To give you a bit of background information on Operation Highjump: The Fall of Berlin, the title is a 2D shooter / platformer. According to the announcement, it pays homage to the unsung heroes of World War II. The game stars Polish resistance lieutenant Józef “Joe” Kawalsky, a man haunted by the ghosts of his past who will unleash his own war to settle the score with those who took everything from him.
The project is said to feature a mixture of “2D shooter, platformer, and adventure genres with a powerful story, retro aesthetics and a beautifully crafted fusion of pixel-art and illustration based on real life reference of the time”. The soundtrack is composed by Chris Huelsbeck and has original, unpublished art from illustrator Alfonso Azpiri.
