Platypus Reclayed announced for Nintendo Switch
Platypus, which originally released in 2002, is now returning on Nintendo Switch as Platypus Reclayed. Claymatic Games will be bringing it out in 2025.
Platypus Reclayed retains the shoot ’em up gameplay of the original, but with enhancements. Claymatic Games has remodeled, reprogrammed, and updated the title for the modern age. Fans can expect new artwork, updated gameplay, new ships, new weapons, and other additional content.

Creator Anthony Flack said today: “Platypus was the first published game I worked on. Ever since it was released and had a great response, there have been things about it that I have wanted to improve. It was originally made under fairly strained circumstances and I never had an opportunity to revise anything later. It wasn’t even really playtested! As the years have gone by, it has been a constant source of astonishment to me that the game would be remembered at all, let alone so fondly. But people would often tell me so, and our Discord community especially have made it clear that the love for my little game is still going strong over 20 years later. It is a rare privilege to create something that connects with people like that, and I’m very happy to be able to finally repay their attention with this all new, best-ever version of the game.”
