Valkyrie Initiative, along with FoxusSexus, today shared the news that HMUR will be appearing on Nintendo Switch. A release window is still being decided.

HMUR is a first-person shooter featuring a mix of “Soviet aesthetics with whacky madness and frantic dynamics of iconic 90s shooters.” Players will need to survive a disaster at a classified Soviet facility while facing hordes of enemies.

Further details can be found in the following overview:

HMUR is a fast-paced retro FPS that hurls you into a twisted alternate version of the 1990s Soviet Union. Mixing frantic 90s shooter mechanics, Soviet sci-fi aesthetics, and a pounding hard bass soundtrack, it’s a brutal dance of speed, precision, and madness.

Step into the shoes of Sergei – a utility worker in a top-secret facility in Mirnogorsk – and fight your way out of a cataclysmic disaster. Something went terribly wrong. Now, survival is all that matters.

  • One life. Endless retries.
  • High mobility, no room for error.
  • Non-linear levels – choose your own path to victory.
  • A massive arsenal – every bullet counts.
  • Clues, audio logs, and environmental storytelling for players who want to understand the world.

The game takes place in Mirnogorsk – a once-thriving Soviet innovation hub in the heart of Khakassia. Once a symbol of progress, it’s now the epicenter of chaos. And under the ruins, a grim mystery unfolds.

  • Genre: First-Person Shooter
  • Mode: Single-player only
