Ruffy and the Riverside update out now, frame rate improvements on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch
Ruffy and the Riverside has received what developer Zockrates Laboratories is calling a big update. News about the patch was posted on social media.
If you’re playing on Nintendo Switch 2, 60 frames per second is now fully supported. Also, for Nintendo Switch 1 players, there’s a higher frame rate.
The game had left the frame rate unlocked. So while it tried to hit 60 FPS on Nintendo Switch 1, it really struggled in that department. There could be some heavy dips with the platformer typically ending up in the 40s. Nintendo Switch 2 did often hang around 60, but there were still quite a few drops.
That’s not all for the update. When playing on either Nintendo Switch hardware, there’s smoother camera and better combat. Zockrates didn’t go into the specifics here, but regardless, the experience should be better for everyone.
Ruffy and the Riverside is out now as a digital download. Catch up on other news for Nintendo Switch here.
