Salty Hounds, an open-world bodyguards dating RPG, in the works for Switch
Topping Palette just opened a Kickstarter campaign yesterday for Salty Hounds. It didn’t take long for the project to find success, as it already reached its €10,000 funding goal. The game has also been secured for Switch.
Salty Hounds is officially described as an open-world bodyguards dating RPG. The game is about “gaining trust and building relationships with a cast of handsome bodyguards (and others) as the new manager of a security agency.” The world is presented with 2D pixel art.
One big aspect is encountering love interests throughout the city on their own schedule. You’ll gain their trust while managing Salty Hounds “through its struggles by upgrading the company facilities, managing the conditions of your employees, assisting them on their missions and improving yourself in various skills.” When you’re not involved with the relationship aspect, you can explore the city and even partake in mini-games.
The dating portion involves experiencing romantic events, exchanging text messages, and having and phone calls. You can even use items and give gifts to love interests. The game has five unique characters that you can get involved with. Topping Palette says that its gameplay system “offers a lot of freedom and depth, making it extra satisfying once you pull off a perfect date.”
