Sophstar lined up for Switch

Publisher Red Art Games, along with developer Banana Bytes, have confirmed Sophstar for Switch. The vertical arcade shoot ’em up will make its digital debut on October 28, 2022 for $12.99 / €12.99.

Also planned are a couple of limited edition physical releases. On Switch, the standard edition will be limited to 2,900 copies and costs €29.99. A double-sided poster will be included in every box as a bonus.

Red Art Games is also selling an extremely limited €44.99 Sophstar Arcade Edition on Switch, and there’ll only be 99 copies available. Each units contains an exclusive poster inspired by Japanese arcade posters, measuring in at 120 x 80 cm (31.5 x 47.24”) and comes in a separate poster tube.

Sub-Lieutenant Soph has lived in Galanian for her whole life, having no memory of when her existence started, and no idea of how she developed her teleporting powers. But after being sent for a recon mission, all of what she knows about herself is about to change.

Sophstar is a vertical arcade shoot’em up with heavy inspiration from the best games of the genre from the 90s, while adding new-exciting features and regular game modes for both casual home players and hardcore arcade fans.
