Super Dimension Fortress Macross 2 is next week’s Arcade Archives game on Nintendo Switch

Hamster has given an early heads up about next week’s Arcade Archives game on Nintendo Switch, which is Super Dimension Fortress Macross 2. It’s planned for July 10, 2025.

Based on the OVA Super Dimensional Fortress Macross II: Lovers Again, the title is a shooter originally made in 1993. Banpresto was behind the initial release.

The arcade game “Super Dimension Fortress Macross 2” is a shooter released by Banpresto (Bandai Namco Entertainment inc.) in 1993. The game follows the story of the original video animation “The Super Dimension Fortress Macross 2 -Lovers Again”. Set around 80 years after “The Super Dimension Fortress Macross,” Earth is faced by a new threat that players must defeat – the Marduk. Clear each stage by achieving the designated “Clear Score” within the time limit.

The “Arcade Archives” series has faithfully reproduced many classic Arcade masterpieces. Players can change various game settings such as game difficulty, and also reproduce the atmosphere of arcade display settings at that time. Players can also compete against each other from all over the world with their high scores. Please enjoy the masterpiece that built a generation for video games.
