Switch set console record in 2023 for most game releases in a year

Switch might be towards the end of its lifecycle, but that didn’t stop the platform for setting a console record in 2023 with the most game releases in a year.
In 2023, 2,360 titles came out for the platform. Again, this is the most ever for a console in a single year. Circana’s Anthony Silva provided the noteworthy tidbit.
Steam set the overall record for all platforms. Over 14,000 games hit the service in 2023. Even with Switch putting out as much content as it did last year, it didn’t really come close to Steam.
Switch originally launched on March 3, 2017. According to the eShop, there are currently almost 12,000 pieces of software available.
