Take-Two is a “big believer” in Switch 2, says Nintendo is aiming to be more supportive with third-parties
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has commented again on Nintendo Switch 2, stating that the company is a “big believer” in the console.
We’ve already seen Take-Two commit to releasing four titles on the console. Borderlands 4, Civilization 7, NBA 2K, and WWE 2K will all be releasing at some point. Depending on how things go, perhaps we could seen even more support.
Zelnick mentioned in an interview with The Game Business that Nintendo “has done a better and more supportive job with first-party titles.” However, with Switch 2, the Big N is “aiming to change that.”
Zelnick’s full words:
We feel really good about it (Switch 2). But it always remains to be seen. We’re offering more on launch support than ever before for a Nintendo platform. We’ve announced four titles for Switch 2. It remains to be seen how it does, but I am a big believer.
Historically, Nintendo has done a better and more supportive job with first-party titles. But I think they are aiming to change that. And we have basically risen to the challenge and opportunity, and we’ll see how it goes. We voted with our feet. Nintendo has asked us to be supportive, and we do believe we’re doing that. Now we will see what happens.
Earlier in the year, Zelnick spoke about how the Nintendo Switch / Switch “can support any audience” compared to past platforms. We have those comments here.
