Comparing Wii’s pointer controls to Switch

With the launch of World of Goo, we finally have a game on Switch that uses pointer controls. How does it stack up to Wii, a system that was based around that very functionality? GameXplain explores the situation in the video below.

    After Skyward Sword I became convinced that motion sensor pointers were the better option over IR pointers, as long as you’re fine with recalibrating on the go.
    They aren’t sensible to interferences, are slightly less jerky and behave better around the screen limits. To me it was like twilight and day.

    don’t understand why they didnt do this with the wii. recalibrating manually but instantly and being able to aim anywhere is preferable to buying extra hardware.
