News leaking out of this week’s Famitsu reveals that Monster Hunter Frontier G is in development for the Wii U and PlayStation 3. The PS3 version will release first on November 20, followed by Wii U on December 11.

Monster Hunter Frontier G may ring a bell for some. The game originally hit Japanese Xbox 360 and PC systems earlier this year.

The new versions’ content is identical to the previous release. PS3 and Wii U will both be receiving a “Beginner’s Pack” (packaged with armor and weapons), priced at 6,090 yen with a monthly fee of 1,400 yen. There will also be a free downloadable version. A free trial period will also be made available to players one week prior to the game’s official launch.

On Wii U, Frontier G will allow for display switching to the GamePad. It won’t be compatible with the nunchuck, but the Pro Controller will be supported. Capcom has yet to confirm if there will be any 3DS functionality. Likewise, it isn’t clear if the PS3 version will support trophies.

This must be the MMO version of Monster Hunter as I have heard about it.

  • MusubiKazesaru

now we just need a US release…

  • Yorai Dragon

;_; but where is Vita version.

    • TraceSkipper

no doubt, until that day I refuse to buy anymore capcom products. wit the vita’s power and cross chat features it would of been awesome but after the RE6 fiasco I think Capcom went full r3tard anyhow and its glory days of RE4/RE5, psp monster hunter games are over.

  • Mike Higgins

    I thought Trophies were mandatory?

  • Binks5

oh, I hope this comes stateside, MHF G on my Wii U I could ask for nothing more

  • ehead

I hope that the other Monster Hunter (powered by CryEngine 3) will be released on consoles as well.

    • Baum 「ツリー」

nobody wants that game…believe me it looks like shit and has almost nothing to do with a real MonHan game anymore.

Tencent totally f***** it up ^^

  • Adrian Brown

I really really really hope this come to the rest of the world. I love MH3U, but more MH will be always welcomed!

  • Ross Brocklesby

Waiting for a MH4 ultimate to be announced!

The current gen systems getting all these ports doesn’t really bode well for PS4/XB1s success, but this is good news for the WiiU. Should bolster its performance a little bit

        I’m assuming your lol-ing over WiiU’s position??
There’s truth in the fact mentioned by other articles.
The performance gap between PS4/XB1 and PS3/360, is less then the performance gap between PS3/360 and PS2/XBOX.
Factor in the diminishing returns rule and that current gen systems have such mature feature sets and interfaces, it will take longer to harness attention to Sony and M’softs newer systems.
The fact that “next-gen” titles are mostly porting to current ones isn’t good news for Sony and M’soft. They can’t afford PS4/XB1 not to sell

IGN has posted a video of an official trailer for a ps vita version of the game.

  • Tim Kelley

Monster hunter online is an official capcom sanctioned monster hunter game. You seem to be confusing it with the now dead ripoff Hunters Blade.

    • Budew

No I was talking about Tencent’s Monster Hunter Online
