Monster Hunter XX Switch details – rumble, DLC, more
Capcom uploaded a new trailer for Monster Hunter XX on Switch earlier this week. Alongside that video, new details were shared as well.
New to the Switch version of Monster Hunter XX is rumble. However, HD Rumble isn’t actually supported – it’s just standard rumble. The feature is enabled when a monster roars, when you strike a monster with a Hunting Art, and when Barufaruku’s special move known as Comet connects. Rumble can be enabled / disabled at any time.
Aside from rumble, players can use the “L” stick to increase or decrease the size of the map. Simply press it to increase or decrease map size. The function can be particularly useful while you’re hunting or searching for a monster.
Monster Hunter XX has special quests involving Deviants, though special tickets are required to participate. These can be obtained from the postman or Millsy, who can be found at the bar. If you press “R”, a list of melodies for the Hunting Horn will be shown along with their effects. Capcom notes that it can be useful for beginners who are just beginning to use the Hunting Horn.
One quality of life improvement Capcom implemented on Switch is the on-screen keyboard. Since it’s larger, inputting text is easier. The touchscreen can also be used when the system is undocked.
On Switch, Capcom is also including the same start bonuses that were made available on 3DS. These include Monster Hunter Diary Poka Poka Airou Village DX, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Monster Hunter Stories, Monster Hunter XX demo, and USJ Real Pack. Bonuses are comprised of items, special titles, Guild Card backgrounds, and more.
Last but not least, Capcom notes that all DLC previously distributed in the 3DS version will be available at launch for Switch at no extra cost. Future DLC will be provided on both platforms at the same time.
