Pokemon X/Y references Hoenn, some fans think Game Freak could be teasing Ruby/Sapphire remake

Posted on October 16, 2013 by (@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News

Pokemon X/Y players have found a couple of references to Hoenn in the game. This discovery, along with other hints, has sparked speculation over the possibility of a future Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire remake.

Pokemon Red/Blue were remade as FireRed and LeafGreen for the Game Boy Advance. Then came HeartGold/SoulSilver for the DS. Might Ruby and Sapphire be next for the 3DS?

With Pokemon Bank in place I hope to see one remake as well that were great Pokemon games and it will be great to use my X/y Pokemon 🙂

    Guise! Gen 3 rumors in Gen 6 game! 6-3=3! HALF-LIFE 3 CONFIRMED!!!

There is no place like Hoenn.

I hope not, it was the absolute low point for the series as far as I see it. Such a tedious slog through endless water areas.

I think it was more… a jump to a new system, new graphical style, more new pokemon, introduction of new mechanics such as abilities and double battles.
To me it was an adventure, my favourite games in the series, especially Emerald. Remakes would be fun!

Don’t get me wrong, I loved a lot about the games, it spawned many of my all-time favourite pokemon (including Milotic, Gardevoir and Flygon), but the map was awful. You needed multiple water pokemon just to hold all the awful water HMs to traverse the place.

It suffers from fundamental flaws that I don’t think could be entirely rectified in a remake.

Isnt that part of the fun, to experience it again in a remake, and maybe change your opinion of it? And I really don’t think you need multiple water pokemon, just one as a HM slave, I can understand 2 if you started with mudkip though, but that’s a choice

What if they just added a surfboard item that allieviated the need for the HM

          • Jumwa

That would be nice, something to eliminate the need for dive and waterfall too.

Honestly I wish they’d eliminate the need for HMs to take up battle ability slots in general.

They forgot the guy thats swimming that says, “I swam all the way from Hoenn.”

considering that Hoenn is their second largest sales in the history of Pokemon behind Sinnoh, I’m am confident that there will be a remake or I will eat my hat

I would love to see a remake of generation 3 games. I began to dislike the newer generations after the release of black and white then stopped playing all together. The other day I played my friend’s X game and it just didn’t seem like the good ol’ pokemon I remember. In my opinion, they made the game much too complicated and now it is even more of a pain to “catch them all”. Although, X and Y are still both great games and designed beautifully, I prefer the classic regions, pokemon, and story lines. A remake would be the best decision nintendo or game freak could make. It could make new users happy as well as the many classic gamers like me. 🙂

Except that the guy talking about the facility says next: ‘It’s not in Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh or even Unova’
