The Mana series Twitter showed footage of Seiken Densetsu 3 running on the Nintendo Switch. It’s unclear if this is the Switch’s Virtual Console or another form of port, but it is still pretty exciting to see. Check it out below:

  • That is amazing. This game was superb on SNES and hasn’t seen the light of day since it’s original release. The background during game play makes me believe this is a port and not just VC.

I will be extra excited if there is an official localization for it.

Or maybe Nintendo is addicted backgrounds to VC. Either way would still be awesome

They should add custom boarders to VC games and you can download them from the Switch eShop for like $0.99.

I hope they do a better job with the SNES VC this time. We’re still miss a ton of classics like ActRaiser, Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Aero The Acro-bat 1&2, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Ghoul Patrol, and Kirby’s Avalanche, just to name a few.

    • I love your VC lists

you said VC you opened a can of worms

by the looks of it, Switch wont have VC and will just lets devs put their version of a game up. Hopefully they’ll give this an English version. Its was reported that the work on it was done so maybe the rom is sitting around somewhere.

I will sell my first born to the fairies if Seiken Densetsu gets a western release on Switch!

    • Please let this happen, Square-Enix and Nintendo… PLEASE

Knowing Square Enix this is just a lazy VC port with local multiplayer which they’ll charge a premium for, rather than a new version with new graphics like Tactics Ogre for the PSP.

With those border decorations, no way it’s VC.
