Sonic Lost World will be available at retail and on the eShop. If you live in Japan and opt for the latter, you can purchase the game at a discount.

On Wii U, Sonic Lost World’s retail version will be priced at 7,329 yen. The download version, meanwhile, is set at 6,500 yen.

There’s a similar discount for the 3DS release of Sonic Lost World. Players will be able to buy the title for 5,229 yen at retail or 4,700 yen on the eShop.

Finally a reason to buy digital versions?

Finally! I literally just complained about eShop pricing with Monster Hunter 4. haha. Although, this is still WAY too expensive, even on the eShop. It’ll drop tremendously in price at retail in a month.

Nintendo doesn’t set prices on 3rd party games though

But Nintendo does control the eShop, and if developers want to sell more copies digitally, they need to make the deal more enticing. At the moment, it’s just not worth buying retail games on the eShop.
