Troll and I has a game breaking bug on Switch, but can be fixed
Troll and I is available on Switch today. Unfortunately, the game has a significant issue just a few minutes in, though it can be taken care of somewhat easily.
Nintendo Life came across the bug roughly 10-15 minutes in. Following a QTE sequence of sorts in which the main character slides down a hill, players defeat an enemy and look for crafting items. However, when attempting to leap over a hill to progress to the next area, an endless loading screen appears.
If it wasn’t an apparent issue before, Maximum Games is certainly aware of it now. They do have a fix, with players advised to complete the following:
We believe that it is due to a memory leak in the Switch OS. If users are experiencing issues, they can fix them by hard resetting the system. You do this by holding down the power button, then selecting “Power Options” and “Turn Off.” The next time you boot the game any issues should be fixed.
It’s a bit of an odd situation. As Nintendo Life points out, we haven’t really heard of a game having issues on Switch as a result of a memory leak. It’s unclear if an official patch will be sent out for a more proper fix, but we’ll let you know if we hear anything.
