1990 shooter Final Zone coming to Nintendo Switch

Wolf Team’s classic game Final Zone will soon be making an appearance on Nintendo Switch, an eShop listing reveals. It will launch on January 17, 2025

Final Zone is an isometric shooter that originally debuted in 1990. The Nintendo Switch version comes with a gallery, a jukebox, support for rewind/turbo, and cheats.

Here’s the full eShop description:

100 years into the future, wars are no longer fought with missiles and nuclear bombs. With all weapons of mass destruction banned, the latest wave in warfare is the New Age Power-Suit, also known as NAP.

Howie Bowie, leader of the elite unit known as “Undead”, is given the mission of occupying and destroying Point A-46K Bloody Axis.

Now he heads into a deadly battlefield known as the Final Zone to accomplish a virtually impossible mission!

  • Fight your way through 6 stages full of action
  • Fight against powerful bosses that will push your combat skills to the limit
  • Use a wide variety of weapons that allow for many different attack strategies
  • Gallery: view images from the original game’s illustrations, posters, box design, etc.
  • Jukebox: listen to any of the game music tracks any time you want.
  • Rewind/Turbo function: repeat something until you achieve perfection, or speed things up
  • Cheats function: activate cheats that will make your mission a lot easier (infinite lives, invulnerability, etc.)
  • Save state function: save wherever you want to in the game, and restart from that exact point
  • Screen filters: select from several filters to modify how the game looks (retro-style monitor, black-and-white, etc.)
