2023 Nintendo Summer of Play announced

Nintendo is celebrating the family summer of gaming with the Nintendo Summer of Play. Fans of all ages will be able to discover their favorite characters and learn more about the worlds they come from.

The event kicks off on June 15 and lasts until August 28 at several different locations. Consumers will have the chance to explore the worlds created by Switch games through a variety of summer-themed activities. The lineup includes:

• Get behind the wheel with Mario and friends to speed down Rainbow Road in an exciting race found in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
• Sit by a serene campfire with Tom Nook and Isabelle in front of a cozy photo-op from Animal Crossing: New Horizons
• Pose with curious plant-like creatures in an oversized garden scene from Pikmin 4
• Take a snapshot with Pikachu and other Pokemon from Pokemon Scarlet/Violet
• Explore the great outdoors with Link in the evolved Kingdom of Hyrule while playing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Nintendo has also said that “the Nintendo Summer of Play tour offers something for every type of player in the family, from the platforming aficionado who likes to explore Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe with others, to the competitive player who prefers to brawl it out in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.”

Those who stop by will receive the Nintendo Summer of Play passport, which can be stamped after participating in various activities at the event. Once completed, they’ll have an opportunity to earn free Nintendo goodies (while supplies last). Also planned is the Play Nintendo Mushroom Kingdom Yourself Photobooth for a digital keepsake. Finally, those who check in with My Nintendo will also receive a free gift (while supplies last) and 100 My Nintendo Platinum Points.

Nintendo Summer of Play attendees can also receive a special GameStop coupon, which gives them $10 off a purchase of $75 or more on select Nintendo games and accessories.
