7 Star Emboar guide Pokemon Scarlet Violet

The 7 Star Emboar Tera Raid Battle event for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is now live, and we have a guide for it ready to go. For this event, Emboar is running Tera Electric, so it’s only weak to Ground-type attacks. The first wave of the event ends on June 16, but it comes back from June 21 to June 23 – this should give you plenty of time to prepare a counter as per one of our recommendations.

7 Star Emboar Guide

Like we mentioned earlier, this is a Tera Electric 7 Star Emboar, so it’s only weak to Ground-type moves. It uses Wild Charge, Flare Blitz, Drain Punch, and Head Smash. When it reaches 40 percent HP or so, it uses Bulk Up twice. Fortunately, it doesn’t have Scald or Solar Beam, so countering it does become a little bit easier. It also has its Hidden Ability, Reckless, which boosts the power of all its recoil moves.

Arceus is a great counter here, and it’s also a strong Pokemon to use in Tera Raid Battles in general. You can change Arceus’ type by giving it a corresponding plate, and if it Terastallizes into that type, its attacks will deal boosted damage to Tera Raid Bosses’ shields. Arceus holding an Earth Plate becomes a Ground type, and you can have it learn Swords Dance, Iron Defense, Earthquake, and Recover (for solo battles) or something like Reflect or Chilling Water for group battles. If you’re playing solo, you will want to boost up Arceus with Swords Dance and Iron Defense, prioritizing the latter to take less damage. Use Recover when your HP gets low and then start chipping away with Earthquake, Terastallizing into Tera Ground when possible. If you have a friend with you who wants to help, they can use something with Safeguard since 7 Star Emboar can still burn Arceus with Flare Blitz. Arceus can also run a special set with Scorching Sands, Iron Defense, Acid Spray, and Recover to avoid the attack drop from a burn. You could also go for Covert Cloak Landorus-Therian, who can boost up with Swords Dance and then use Earthquake. Its Ability, Intimidate, also lowers 7 Star Emboar’s Attack every time it is KO’d and revived.

Another good idea here is Mudsdale, who can boost up with Curse to slowly raise up its Attack and Defense. Its Ability, Stamina, will also boost its Defense whenever 7 Star Emboar attacks it. It can then use its own Earthquake to deal increased damage, though it can still be burned by Emboar’s Flare Blitz as well. Palossand with Scorching Sands, Iron Defense, Chilling Water, and Earth Power as a secondary attack is a good option as well. Swampert works here too, and it can use Bulk Up, Earthquake, Chilling Water, and Screech to increase its damage output. Both can also hold Shell Bells to restore health over time whereas Arceus cannot. If you’re having trouble doing this solo, trying again may help, as there is a Gardevoir CPU in the pool of random teammates who can use Life Dew to restore your health without requiring a cheer.
