7 Star Salamence guide for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
The 7 Star Salamence Tera Raid Battle event for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is live now, and we’ve written a guide full of potential checks and counters. The event continues from now until April 20, and then comes back between April 25 and 27. This Salamence is Tera Flying, so you’ll need to bring Pokemon who can somehow withstand its numerous offensive type coverage options. If you’re looking to take down this powerful foe, have a look at our tips and strategies down below.
7 Star Salamence guide
This 7 Star Salamence event is running Tera Flying, which leaves it weak to Electric, Ice, and Rock-type moves. Under normal circumstances, Salamence can use Tera Blast, Dragon Pulse, Earthquake, and Flamethrower. At certain points in the battle, it uses Heat Wave, Breaking Swipe, and Dragon Dance one time each. This Pokemon is especially dangerous because its Ability will increase its Attack every time it gets a KO.
Your typical Tera Raid Battle Bellibolt works well here, but it just barely loses by itself. We used a combination of Bellibolt and Rotom-Wash, and that was enough to take down 7 Star Salamence with little issue. Bellibolt’s set is Tera Electric, Modest nature (and max EVs in Defense and Special Attack), a Magnet for its held item, and the Electromorphosis Ability. For this specific Raid Battle, you’ll need Parabolic Charge (which is an Egg Move) and Acid Spray. Most Bellibolt also run Chilling Water and Reflect or Light Screen, but you won’t need those during this particular battle because we have Rotom-Wash.
Our Rotom set is Tera Electric with a Calm Nature and 252 EVs in Defense and Special Defense. It has a Light Clay item with the moves Reflect, Light Screen, Will-O-Wisp, and Thunderbolt. On the first turn of the battle, have Rotom use Will-O-Wisp immediately. On turn 2, use Reflect, and on turn 3, use Light Screen. Switch to Heal Cheers afterward, and when the screens go away, re-set them. When 7 Star Salamence’s shield is eventually broken, you can use Will-O-Wisp on it again. For Bellibolt, use Acid Spray on the first three turns, Terastallize as soon as possible, and then spam Parabolic Charge. Rotom will need to time its Heal Cheers right, but if done correctly you should have no problem making it through.
