7 Star Serperior guide for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

The 7 Star Serperior Tera Raid Battle for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is live now. It goes from now until September 22nd, and then it comes back a week later from September 27 to September 29. This time, Serperior is running Tera Grass, which boosts its signature Contrary Leaf Storms to nuclear power. That means you’d better have Sap Sipper or a really solid and bulky Grass-type resistance. If you’re looking to take down this tough opponent, check out our strategy below.

7 Star Serperior guide

Like we mentioned earlier, this is a Tera Grass Serperior. That matches the Pokemon’s normal typing, so it remains weak to Fire, Flying, Bug, Poison, and Ice-type moves. Serperior starts the battle with Sweet Scent, which lowers your Pokemon’s evasiveness to increase the accuracy of its own moves. From there, it can use Leaf Storm, Dragon Pulse, Iron Tail, and Gastro Acid. It also uses Breaking Swipe once at around 85% health remaining, and then Glare once at about 40% health remaining.

It’s easiest to defeat this Tera Raid Battle event if you have a partner to play with. A good team to bring starts with a regular Kantonian Weezing, who packs the Neutralizing Gas Ability to disable Serperior’s Contrary and hit it with super-effective Poison-type attacks. Since 7 Star Serperior uses Gastro Acid, which can potentially nullify Weezing’s Neutralizing Gas, you will want to use an Ability Shield item to prevent the move from working. As for moveset, we’d recommend Sludge Bomb, Smokescreen, Acid Spray, and then any fourth move. You can then use Acid Spray three times and then start dealing major damage with Sludge Bomb. Neutralizing Gas Weezing opens the door for Swords Dance + Bitter Blade Ceruledge, who can then set up Swords Dance on Serperior’s weakened attacks and restore its HP every time it attacks.

Another decent idea is Unaware Skeledirge with Torch Song and either Ability Shield or Shell Bell as a held item. Galarian Slowking with Skill Swap, Acid Spray, and Sludge Bomb of its own works great too. Do note that some CPU’s Pokemon have Intimidate, which will raise 7 Star Serperior’s Attack right off the bat unless you have Neutralizing Gas on your team.
