Online leaderboards could head to Chasing Aurora in an update
When Chasing Aurora releases on Sunday, it won’t come with online leaderboards. But Broken Rules, the game’s developer, says that it is already working on online scores. If Chasing Aurora proves successful, the studio will be open to adding in the feature through an update.
“We’ve started implementing online scores and if the game is any success we’ll add it in an update.
Chasing Aurora also don’t feature online play. Explaining the decision behind this, Broken Rules said:
“Online multiplayer for a fast-paced action game requires either an existing engine (which usually is not available? at the launch of a console because things take time) or a much larger team than we have. The problem is not so much the networking code itself, but integrating match-making, writing stable server code, cheat-prevention. So we focussed on making a game to play together in one room.”
