New version of Chompy Chomp Chomp heading to Wii U

Chompy Chomp Chomp is in the works for Wii U, developer Utopian World of Sandwiches has confirmed. A release is planned in 2014.
Chompy Chomp Chomp was previously released on Xbox Live and PC. A new version titled “Chompy Chomp Chomp Party” began development on Wii U last week.
Co-founder James Woodrow explained how the game in a message provided to us:
Last year we went to our first expo, Games Britannia in Sheffield with our first version of Chompies. We met Karl Hilton (one of the creators of GoldenEye on the N64 and Managing Director of Crytek UK) there. He agreed with us that Nintendo would be a great place for Chompies and after Woody got over being star struck he sent him a cheeky email. Karl did something really amazing that we weren’t expecting at all and rang Nintendo on our behalf. They emailed us back straight away.
At the time the Wii U was on the horizon and they didn’t have all the things in place for indies. And we wanted to see how the first Chompies was going to be received. So we kept in touch and waited.
Although the initial sales of Chompies have not made us anything close to rich, the reception and love that we get for the game and the characters has been overwhelming. So as soon as the Wii U opened up to indies we had a meeting with the awesome guys at Nintendo Europe and we became registered Nintendo developers in August.
We are so excited to be bringing Chompy Chomp Chomp to Wii U! We dreamt of it but we didn’t think it would actually happen! When we first made Chompies we had young families in mind and who is more family friendly than Nintendo?!
Because the game is being made in Unity, it will be made in 3D. Utopian World of Sandwiches says the game will support at least five players locally. The team is also “going to try some interesting and different things with the Wii U hardware”.
