Nintendo of America hires new lobbying firm to further fight piracy

Piracy is something that Nintendo has been forced to constantly battle over the years. Things aren’t quite as bad today compared to the Wii and DS era, but it remains an issue nonetheless.

Politico is now reporting that “Nintendo of America has hired Choe Groves Consulting to lobby the federal government on issues related to intellectual property, international trade and anti-piracy measures”. Jennifer Groves, a former senior director for IP and innovation at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, will lobby on Nintendo’s behalf. Since the end of 2009, Nintendo of America has spent only $50,000 on lobbying.
