Factor 5 officially developing Kid Icarus for Wii?
For months now, there have been rumors bumbling about that Factor 5 is currently developing Kid Icarus for Wii. There have been a bunch of unconfirmed reports, but nothing official. A recent tidbit in the the latest IGN Nintendo Voicechat podcast, however, seems to confirm that the company is could be truly developing the the title. When asked if he was concerned about Kid Icarus since Factor 5 said their next game would be casual, Matt Casamassina replied with, “That does concern me a little bit…I think we’ve said that, haven’t we [Factor 5 developing Kid Icarus]? If we haven’t said it, we’re saying it now…I mean come on, it’s no big secret to anybody.”
Doubts about Kid Icarus on the Wii began to perculate last month, when the game was a no-show at Nintendo’s E3 showing. However, since then, news has been reported that Nintendo’s policy includes not showing many hardcore titles at E3, and when games are ready to be revealed, fans will see the titles at the appropriate venue.
Personally, I usually don’t consider most things official until we see press releases, but this is the closest thing we’ve heard about in awhile, and is perhaps the closest thing to a confirmation.
