SPOON MAKES ROCK BAND DEBUT WITH A FOUR PACK OF INDIE FAVORITES PLUS THE P.O.D. PREMIERE!
Cambridge, Mass. – May 28, 2010 – Harmonix and MTV Games today announced that indie rock favorites Spoon and alternative metal rockers P.O.D. will make their debuts in the Rock Band Music Store of downloadable content for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and WiiTM.With more than 400 artists, including Jimi Hendrix, The Who, AC/DC and Green Day, who are exclusive to Rock Band, as well as more than 1,200 songs available through the Rock Band platform and 68 million songs sold through its download store alone, Rock Band is the undisputed sales and content leader in the interactive music space, providing the deepest and best selection of artists, songs and albums.
Rock Band DLC additions for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 system and Wii
Indie rock heavy hitters Spoon will make their Rock Band debut next week with a four pack of songs spanning the band’s career. “Trouble Comes Running” and “Got Nuffin” will both be added to the Rock Band Music Store from the band’s seventh studio release, Transference, which hit shelves January 2010 and debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. Spoon Pack 01 will also include “I Turn My Camera On” from 2005’s Gimme Fiction, which was ranked by Rhapsody as No. 19 of the 100 Best Albums of the Decade; as well as “Don’t You Evah” from 2007’s Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, which was named in the Top 10 of both Pitchfork and Rolling Stone’s Top 50 Albums of 2007. Spoon is currently on a world tour in support of Transference.Alternative metal rockers P.O.D. will also make their Rock Band debut next week with “Alive,” from the band’s fourth album, Satellite. It was released in September 2001 and debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. Satellite became the band’s best-selling album, selling more than 3 million copies in the United States, and “Alive” garnered a Grammy® Award nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance. P.O.D. have said that they are recording a new album, due out in 2010.

Downloadable content for Wii is purchased via the in-game Rock Band Music Store using Wii PointsTM purchased through the WiiTM Shop Channel and can be downloaded to the system memory or to an SD card for additional storage. The tracks stream directly from the SD card for seamless play.
With these additions, there are now 1,206 tracks available to date via disc and download purchase (complete list of tracks at www.rockband.com/music). Rock Band continues to satisfy music fans’ and gamers’ voracious appetite for rock with more than 65 million paid downloads since its launch Nov. 20, 2007. The Rock Band Music Store allows players to preview and purchase downloadable individual music tracks and packs from the vast selection of offerings available to date without ever leaving the game as they build their own custom Rock Band library.
Rock Band and Rock Band 2 are rated “T” for Teen (lyrics, suggestive themes) by the ESRB. Music downloads are not rated by the ESRB.
