Conway: Disappearance at Dahlia View, which previously had a November 2 release date on Switch, has been delayed. All console versions will instead be ready to go in early 2022.

Sold Out and White Paper Games announced Conway: Disappearance at Dahlia View, a story-driven observational thriller, back in June. While the console versions have been delayed, the PC version has been unaffected.

White Paper Games’ statement about the situation reads as follows:

We have 3 internal goals for Conway; ship on time, on budget with no bugs.

When planning 2-3 years ahead, it requires a lot of moving parts to come together in order to land exactly where you want. Unfortunately, one of these goals has been missed.

To ship a game that is a tight experience with no bugs requires constant QA testing. We want to ensure that we put all the steps in place to mitigate the chances of them affecting our players’ experience of Conway.

It’s our most polished game to date. We’ve worked incredibly hard on it and we know it’s the best experience we’re able to create for you.

Unfortunately, the console turn around times take that little bit longer and since we’re so late into the year with shipping November 2, we’ve made the tough decision to delay Conway on consoles until early 2022.

It’s very close to ready, but not quite. We don’t want to rush at the last hurdle for it to release without proper stress testing and leave you with a mild experience you don’t quite resonate with because of a frustrating technical issue.

Our games are centered around world building and immersion with strong character performance, any blockers that pull you out of that experience can be detrimental to the experience.

We hope you understand this is an incredibly tough decision for a small team to make but we believe it’s the right one.

We’ll still see our PC players on November 2in Dahlia View whether playing through Steam, GOG or the Epic Store, but for our console players, we hope you’ll see the extra care and attention to get it right.

Once we hear about a new release date for Conway: Disappearance at Dahlia View on Switch, we’ll let you know.
