1000xResist

Original: Today, publisher Fellow Traveller and developer 1000xResist announced that 1000xResist is in the works for Switch. The hyper-cinematic adventure will be available in 2023.

The premise of the game is that you’re a clone and you worship the last surviving human known as the ALLMOTHER. Your faith is shattered by a dangerous rumor, prompting the main character to phase through time and memory in order to expose a 1,000-year-old lie.

Here’s a full overview with more details:

Relive the memories of a god. Reclaim your legacy across time. RESIST a thousand-year-old lie.

The year is unknown and the air is unbreathable. All that remains are you and your sisters, living under the shadow of a mysterious disease, cloning one another into eternity. In the safety of the Garden, survival is simple. Stay inside. Serve your function. Obey the ALLMOTHER.

You are a CLONE. Your name and function: WATCHER. You relive the memories of the ALLMOTHER and uphold her glory. When your closest sister, FIXER, comes to you with a dangerous rumour…

You phase through time and discover a devastating truth: someone has tampered with history. Will you save your sisterhood? Or burn it to the ground?

1000xRESIST is a hyper-cinematic, narrative adventure. Shift through time. Experience the past, present, and future. Examine memory, identity, and inherited histories, whilst exploring dynamic environments, each with their own distinct style and feel.

The emotionally complex world of 1000xRESIST will push you to a series of difficult decisions, with multiple endings. Your actions will shape the fate of the next generation.

1000xRESIST is a game born of an eclectic set of inspirations, including the games of Yoko Taro (NieR:Automata), the anime of Satoshi Kon (Perfect Blue) and Naoko Yamada (A Silent Voice), and even the theatre of Robert Wilson (Einstein on the Beach) – it’s Kentucky Route Zero meets Neon Genesis Evangelion, featuring a full voiceover by a brilliant cast of Asian-Canadian actors.
