Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed Director’s Cut release date set for August overseas
XSEED Games and Marvelous today announced the English release date for Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed Director’s Cut. Fans in the west will be able to get their hands on the game starting August 1, 2023.
Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed Director’s Cut previously came to Japan this past April. While we heard about a summer release window for the west, this is the first time we’ve been given a concrete release date.
Here’s an overview of the game:
Updated from its original release for a new generation, Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed Director’s Cut places players in the role of Nanashi, an otaku mysteriously transformed into a vampire and thrust into a conspiracy of “Synthisters” plaguing the electronics mecca. Alongside a colorful cast of allies known as the ‘Akiba Freedom Fighters,’ Nanashi must defend his fellow otaku from vampire predators, discovering that the best strategy to defeat them is to strip them to their bare essentials and expose them to the cleansing power of the sun! Featuring an all new “true ending” route fully voiced in English and Japanese starring lovable maid Kati, original side quests introducing more offbeat otaku denizens of Akihabara, and an arsenal of new weapons and armor, Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed Director’s Cut brings modern supernatural action and adventure for the Japanophile of discerning tastes.
Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed Director’s Cut will be sold on Switch for $29.99 / €29.99 / £24.99. As a reminder, there’ll be a $40 physical “Day One Edition” containing a musical selections CD and a set of nine large art cards featuring commemorative illustrations by various Japanese artists.
