Balatro Switch physical release revealed, pre-orders open
Balatro is getting a brand new physical release as part of a “Special Edition”, and pre-orders are starting to go live.
The rollout of the announcement took place in a bit of an odd fashion. PlayStack technically shared the news during a Giant Bomb at Nite show a couple of weeks back. The publisher itself still never put out an official announcement, but now that the news is out there, perhaps that isn’t important.
In any case, the Balatro physical release is pretty straightforward. You’ll get the game on a cartridge, but each unit also includes ten actual cards.
Balatro originally came to the Switch eShop this past February. Read more about it below.
The poker roguelike. Balatro is a hypnotically satisfying deckbuilder where you play illegal poker hands, discover game-changing jokers, and trigger adrenaline-pumping, outrageous combos.
Combine valid poker hands with unique Joker cards in order to create varied synergies and builds. Earn enough chips to beat devious blinds, all while uncovering hidden bonus hands and decks as you progress. You’re going to need every edge you can get in order to reach the boss blind, beat the final ante and secure victory.
You can pre-order the Balatro Switch physical release here – those in the UK can grab it here. Retailers are currently listing a September 17, 2024 release date.
