7 Star Incineroar guide for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
The 7 Star Incineroar Tera Raid Battle event for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is live now. It goes from September 6 to September 8, and then comes back the following weekend from September 13 to September 15. This time around, we’ve got a Tera Dark Incineroar, which means its signature Darkest Lariat move is buffed to super-strength. If you’re looking to topple this intimidating opponent, take a look at some of our strategies below.
7 Star Incineroar guide
As mentioned earlier, this is a Tera Dark 7 Star Incineroar, so it’s only weak to Fairy, Bug, and Fighting-type moves. Incineroar uses Flare Blitz, Darkest Lariat, Bulk Up, and Iron Head as its normal moves. At the beginning of the match, it starts off with Snarl and Taunt. At half health, it will use Earthquake.
Kommo-o is an absolutely fantastic 7 Star Incineroar counter. It resists absolutely everything Incineroar has got except for Iron Head, which it takes neutral damage from. Iron Defense and Body Press are essentially the only two attacks you need here. After the effects of Taunt wear off, use Iron Defense three times and then go for Body Press. For an item, you can either use a Lum Berry to cure a burn from Flare Blitz, or you could use a Shell Bell to increase Kommo-o’s longevity so it restores health each time it attacks. Make sure Kommo-o is Bold-natured (or minted) and that it has 252 EVs in both HP and Defense. Go with Soundproof as its Ability to avoid chip damage from Snarl. The other two moves don’t really matter, especially if you have a teammate. Make sure Kommo-o is Tera Fighting.
Magcargo also makes for an excellent Kommo-o teammate. Give it a Light Clay item and Reflect, Clear Smog, Will-O-Wisp, and Iron Defense. You can also go with Burning Jealousy for an attack move if you’d like, but it’ll be Kommo-o dealing most of the damage. Make sure Magcargo is either Tera Fighting or Tera Dark (it doesn’t matter which) – that way it will change its type by the time Incineroar goes for Earthquake, which would otherwise annihilate it. At the beginning of the game, Magcargo will want to use Reflect (if not taunted) or Clear Smog if 7 Star Incineroar does use Taunt on it. Basically, you’ll want to keep up Reflect all the time, Clear Smog Incineroar to remove its boosts, and then boost up yourself with Iron Defense or burn Incineroar (who is no longer Fire-type, so can be burned). With Kommo-o, you’ll want to boost up with Iron Defense and then Body Press.
