Infernape 7 star Tera Raid guide Pokemon Scarlet Violet

The 7 Star Infernape Tera Raid Battle event for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is live now. It continues from now until October 6, and then comes back for a second run from October 11 to October 13. This superboss is running Tera Rock, which gives Infernape extra coverage in addition to its normal Fire and Fighting-type attacks. If you’re looking to take down this opponent, check out our tips and strategies below.

As we mentioned earlier, Infernape is running Tera Rock. That means it’s weak to Water, Fighting, Ground, and Steel-type moves. Infernape uses Flare Blitz, Aura Sphere, Tera Blast, and Grass Knot as its normal attacks. It also uses Nasty Plot, Swords Dance, and Focus Energy one time each as its health is gradually reduced over time.

Kommo-o is a fantastic counter here, and you might actually be able to solo this raid if you build it correctly. With Bulletproof as its Ability, Kommo-o resists Fire, Grass, and Rock moves, and it’s completely immune to Aura Sphere. We’d recommend maxing out its HP and Defense, and giving it the moves Iron Defense and Body Press (with a PP Max on the latter just in case). Give Kommo-o a Shell Bell, too. Basically, you want to get three Iron Defenses up, start attacking with Body Press, and then Terastallize into a pure Fighting-type as soon as possible. You’ll lose your Fire and Grass resistances, but you’ll have higher Defense and your Body Press attacks will heal you for tons of HP each time you use the attack. To be honest, Kommo-o is really all you need here – if you’re having trouble, you can try a Galarian Weezing with Misty Surge to prevent Flare Blitz burns (and give it Clear Smog to reset its boosts). But one or two Kommo-o should be all you need here.

Were you able to take down 7 Star Infernape with a different Pokemon that we didn’t talk about here? If so, feel free to share your counter in the comments down below.
