Mario & Luigi: Brothership apparently made with Unreal Engine

Mario & Luigi: Brothership appears to have been developed with Unreal Engine. That’s based on a photo taken of the back of the boxart, which spread on social media recently. 

Mario & Luigi: Brothership won’t be the first Nintendo-published Switch game to use Unreal Engine. Others include Princess Peach: Showtime, Pikmin 4, and Yoshi’s Crafted World.

One thing about Mario & Luigi: Brothership that still remains a mystery is the developer behind the game. AlphaDream handled all of the previous titles, but the studio went under several years ago. Fans have speculated that ILCA – the studio behind Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl – led development, but that has yet to be confirmed. Worth noting, Mario & Luigi: Brothership will be the series’ first brand new entry in almost a decade.
