Employment agency Gakujo recently held a survey that shows Nintendo ranks third in terms of Japanese graduates that are on the job hunt. 5,476 university students from across the country participated showing which companies they’re most interested in.

Trade giant Itochu and food and biotech corporation Ajinomoto ranked first and second respectively. However, Nintendo was very clearly #1 for gaming companies. Konami, Bandai Namco, SEGA, and Capcom also appeared in the top fifty.

A big part of Nintendo’s appeal is its popularity in the video game space. However, also significant is how big the company is globally as well as its low employee turnover rate, which comes in close to zero. The average turnover rate tends to be around 30 percent.

The CEO of a Japanese employment company also highlighted a number of other positives about Nintendo. These include “a high rate of paid vacation utilization,” plus “strong support for parenting” and “a unique point system for employees that can be used for games, books, travel, and more.” That’s along with “a deep understanding of diversity” as well as “a partnership system that allows employees with same-sex partners to be treated as if they were married, among other progressive and practical initiatives.”
