Hollow Knight Silksong 2025 update

Hollow Knight: Silksong fans are still clamoring for the game’s launch, and while there’s still nothing in the way of a release date, we do have a brief update from developer Team Cherry.

Over on X, Team Cherry PR and marketing head Matthew ‘Leth’ Griffin was asked about the project’s status. He said in response: “Yes the game is real, progressing and will release.”

We should also bring up something else that made the news last week. We won’t get into all of the specifics, but essentially fans took what they believed were various signs pointing to an ARG involving the release date. There was also talk that this could all be leading up to an appearance during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct on April 2. However, YouTuber fireb0rn has since said that Griffin “reached out to me to confirm there was no Silksong ARG”.

It’s been a bit of an agonizing wait for Hollow Knight: Silksong. The title was shown off way back at E3 2019 as part of the Nintendo Treehouse: Livestream with extensive gameplay, suggesting that the project was quite far along. No one could have predicted that the title would still not be out 5.5 years later.
