Nippon Ichi Software announces Curse, Gobble, Renzu, Kyouran, and Hime for Nintendo Switch
Nippon Ichi Software today announced not one, but five new projects for Nintendo Switch with Curse, Gobble, Renzu, Kyouran, and Hime all in development. The first three are planned for this year. The other two will follow in 2026.
Below is what’s been shared thus far:
Project Name: Curse
The first completely new title is a command battle RPG with the concept of “curse”.
Players become adventurers who save a town that is being eaten away by a curse, and challenge the dungeon where the treasure lies. In the dungeon, players advance deeper and deeper while experiencing the tension of the “curse” that suddenly falls on them. They will be cursed in various situations such as enemy attacks, treasure chest traps, and specific locations. Curses do not only bring disadvantages, but can also be brought back to the town and purified to strengthen the player, so they will be forced to make a difficult decision on how far they should endure the curse and move forward or retreat.

Project Name: Gobble
Gobble is a title born from a company-wide planning competition called “Nippon Ichi Project Festival” held once a year. In the past, new IP such as htoL#NiQ: The Firefly Diary, Yomawari: Night Alone, and The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince.
Gobble is set in a world that should have become peaceful after the Demon King was defeated. While being chased by a monster that suddenly appeared, the protagonist, a boy, accidentally meets a “scythe” that speaks human language.
The key to progressing in the game is “predation”. The “scythe” can steal the abilities of enemies by eating them. Defeat enemies, prey on them, steal their abilities, and catch all the monsters in one fell swoop.
This title is characterized by American comic book-style production and cartoon-style animation. Please pay attention to the pictures scattered throughout the game, such as when attacking or defeating enemies, and when events occur!Project Name: Kyouran
This title is a new action RPG packed with crazy exhilarating action and replay value, delivered by a powerful development team of development manager Minoha Shunsuke, character designer Harada Takehito, and music by Sato Tenpei.
The stage of this title is a vast world where various monsters compete for supremacy. The protagonist, a mercenary, uses his favorite weapons and special skills to wipe out the monsters and challenge the giant boss that awaits him at the end of the stage.
In addition to the player’s action skills, you can also enjoy character development elements that you wouldn’t expect from an action RPG, such as level 9999 and damage over a billion, and strategies such as using monsters you have befriended as weapons during battle.
Project Name: Renju
This title will bring you the pure horror of “curses”.
The protagonist, a reporter for an occult magazine, collects and writes articles about terrifying urban legends and rumors. One day, he hears a rumor of a death curse and heads to a haunted spot, where he encounters a terrifying monster and is cursed. As the countdown to death approaches, you, the player, search for clues to solve the mystery of the curse. The curse erodes as the exploration progresses. Can you escape the curse of death that is approaching moment by moment…?
Project Name: Shinigami Hime
Shinigami Hime is the third title in the picture book series that adults can enjoy, following The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince and The Cruel King and the Great Hero, which were released with a picture book-like world as the theme. The character design is by Sayaka Oda, and the planning and scenario are by Kento Shirohana. You can enjoy the hand-drawn style graphics and unique character designs unique to Sayaka Oda, which are familiar from the picture book series. Meanwhile, the scenario depicts a world of picture books mutated by girls suffering from trauma, and a strange library that houses those picture books, a world that is more strange and dark than the previous two titles.
