Kirby Air Riders developer revealed, made by Bandai Namco

The developer of Kirby Air Riders is now confirmed, with director Masahiro Sakurai sharing the news that Bandai Namco is working on the project.

Sakurai shared that tidbit on social media. He said that the “staff is giving their all in developing the game, but it will take some time before we can share more information.” Fans were also reminded that Bandai Namco worked on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Smash Bros. for Wii U / 3DS.

Sakurai, who is known for his work on the Super Smash Bros. series, is back on the Kirby franchise after more than two decades. He previously directed the original Kirby Air Ride on GameCube, which launched in 2003.

Kirby Air Riders, which is due out later in 2025, was once of Nintendo’s big announcements from yesterday’s Nintendo Direct presentation. We’ve got the game’s first trailer here.
