Deltarune cut content

Nintendo published a new interview today with Deltarune creator Toby Fox, and that discussion revealed that an entire segment of content was cut from Chapter 3.

The next two chapters of Deltarune just came to Nintendo Switch today with Switch 2 getting the release tomorrow. In honor of the launch, Nintendo decided to catch up with Fox for that interview.

Many games leave content on the cutting room floor before they’re shared with the world, and Deltarune is no different. According to Fox, this was done to improve pacing. While the cut content was “interesting”, he didn’t feel it was worth keeping in the end.

Fox shared in the interview:

“Chapter 3 was originally longer than the final version, but we cut an entire segment. There was some interesting content in the cut part, but we felt it was too long. If each chapter is too long, it will affect the pacing of Deltarune as a whole, so it’s very important to pay attention to this point.”

Outside of the interview itself, a few pieces of concept art was shared. You can catch up on the full set below.

Deltarune can be purchased now for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 tomorrow. Cross-buy for both systems is supported, and we have the details here.
