Pauline is officially in Donkey Kong Bananza, it’s been revealed. This news comes as part of today’s Nintendo Direct for the game.
Pauline is the true identity of Odd Rock. In the game, she’s looking for a way back home to the surface. Pauline, who is thirteen years old, sets off together with Donkey Kong on a quest in the Underground World to reach the Planet Core where a wish can be granted.
One of the main mechanics for Pauline is her singing as she can make Donkey Kong temporarily transform. Players can collect gold to build up Bananergy, which allows Pauline’s singing to activate the transformations. There’s Kong Bananza that makes Donkey Kong super strong, Zebra Bananza which makes him faster and lets him dash for short distances, and Ostrich Bananza that allows DK to fly and drop Egg Bombs on enemies.
Pauline was previously leaked for Donkey Kong Bananza. Fans assumed that was the identity of the character, but now we have official confirmation.
Donkey Kong Bananza launches for Nintendo Switch 2 on July 17, 2025.
