Toad and Toadette’s new voice actors revealed, debuted in Mario Kart World

We’re continuing to hear about new voice actors for characters in the Mario universe, and we now know about who’s playing Toad and Toadette.

Laila Berzins has taken over the role of Toad. Meanwhile, Laura Stahl is playing Toadette. We’ll also mention that Paul Castro Jr. plays male Toads players encounter in Mario Kart World.

Berzins had this to say about voicing Toad:

“I am overjoyed to be able to finally announce that I voice Toad in Mario Kart World. Being a part of such an iconic franchise, let alone one of my favorite characters is a dream come true. I am so inspired by the magnificent Toads before me; Jen Taylor and Samantha Kelley. The gaming community owes them a huge debt of gratitude for the years they’ve spent bringing these characters to life. I hope to do this little mushroom proud! He’s a fun guy! Get it? Fungi? Anyway… Immensely grateful to Nintendo and Cup of Tea Studios. ‘Here we go!'”

Stahl and Castro Jr. expressed similar levels of excitement on social media.

This follows yesterday’s news in which Courtney Lin confirmed that she’s the new voice of Princess Peach, taking over for Samantha Kelly. Read more about that here.
